Morrocan Power Cable

The lengths that are necessary (in this case 3,800km) to get renewable energy from where it is generated to where it is needed are sometimes just crazy.

The $/MWh added to to the energy generated for just the cable over a 20 year finance period from $20B invested is on the order of $200/MWh, but needs to qualify as renewable energy generated in the UK to get incentives to make it economic. That means it is just moving the energy cost into the taxes on the consumer.

Virtus Solis could build and deploy about 10GW of baseload capacity for the same amount financed, including all R&D costs.
